It is my great pleasure to announce the International Gemmological Conference, IGC2019. It will take place in the beautiful city of Nantes (France), with probably about 100 attendees expected.
We hope that you will make this 36th edition of IGC a great success. Our goal is to gather in Nantes (France) from 27-31 August 2019, the most renowned international experts together with students and researchers who share interest in gems and jewerly.
A broad range of topics will be covered, including, but not limited to:
1) Synthetic and natural diamonds
2) Color stones and pearls
3) Gem treatments
4) localities, geology and genesis of gemstones
5) physics and chemistry of gem materials
The Conference will consist in 5 days of oral and poster presentations, starting on Tuesday 27 August and ending on Saturday 31 August. Tuesday August 27th we organize an open colloquium at the same venue, featuring IGC speakers, and providing an opportunity for French gemologists who cannot attend the IGC to benefit from its venue in Nantes.
